I had a conversation with Director of Operations about problems I was having in managing the store because I was not trained on management duties before the former mgr was fired for theft. Any time I would ask for help she would snap at me if I asked her to repeat herself. I told her that I have ADDHD-LD and I sometimes need things repeated and I often need to write things down. She replied with she "has had employees that suffer from mental issues like being bi-polar work for her" I asked if I could have the Sr. Mgr train me and she said she could not make accommodations in training me because I would not be promoted. During the 4 months that I performed Mgr and Asst. duties if I asked for help or she had to tell me something she would snap at me and make me feel like an idiot if she had to repeat herself or if I had to write it out .After I was fired I found out that she had the person that was an internal promotion to Mgr trained by a Sr Mgr for a few wks before she replaced me.
It is possible. If you were terminated because of a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (which it sounds like your condition is), then you can probably file a wrongful termination suit against the company. If not, you may still be able to file a suit if you were terminated because the employer refused to provide you with a reasonable accommodation for your condition and that refusal is what led to the termination. You really need to consult with an experienced employment attorney.
