Can I sue for harassment at work?

More details to this question:
I'm facing a color racism problem at work. I'm slightly darker that the coworkers and some supervisors at work and they are always calling me names like so black and monkey while I'm sitting at my desk. Can I sue my company for $100,000 justice?

You can probably sue for racial harassment, and possibly for discrimination as well. It is way too early, however, to say how much you could sue for. You should talk to a local lawyer who specializes in employment law. These cases can be very complex and can be very difficult for a person to pursue without a lawyer's help.

No, first you have to file a complaint with the EEOC. Then either the EEOC will get a settlement for you or they will give you a right to sue letter. Then you can sue.

This is actually a common complaint that I hear from clients who come to my office. I would suggest following the company handbook, which, in many cases, would say that you complain to HR.
