QUESTION

Can this pay roll issue be looked into to get back what's mine?

Asked on Mar 08th, 2014 on Labor and Employment - Idaho
More details to this question:
I was working at this restaurant and I could not understand why my paychecks were really small. Well I never paid attention to how many hours I worked but 2 week later come pay day I felt something wasn't right. Later on some of us that worked there found out that one of the managers was deleting our hours on the clock to lower their labor for the main boss not to give them grief over and there was a few of us that this happened to. What can we do with our clock in/out sheets?

You should make a chart of the date and hours you believe you were not paid. Give a copy of that to the manager, and request your pay. If he/she does not pay you, you may report this to Wage and Hour Division (WHD) - U.S. Department of Labor http://www.wagehour.dol.gov/ They have investigators that handle such claims. You must be paid at least minimum wage for every worked. That is the law.
