QUESTION

Cell phone for work.

Asked on Feb 24th, 2020 on Wrongful Termination - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I work as a handyman & My employer asks me to send him pictures of my work. Because I have an older device, my internal memory is too low to send pics so I was given 3 days to purchase another device or else they'll terminate me. I was never told that pictures were a requirement during the interview or when I was hired. They don't want to purchase a device. Can I lose my job over this, is this legal?

NJ is an 'at will' employment state which means that there does not have to be a reason to terminate your employment. I would work with your employer with regard toa solution. Can you borrow a cell phone which takes pictures ? Ed Dimon, Esq. 732-797-1600
