QUESTION

Change of ownership

Asked on Apr 11th, 2017 on Employment Contracts - Oregon
More details to this question:
I work for a small business in Portland, Oregon that has only two employees, and it is a coffee shop. The owners have recently sold their business, and just informed me on 4/5 that the new owner will be taking over tomorrow 4/12. I have not yet met the new owner, and I have not been asked by my employers if I want to continue working for the new owner. If I do not, will I be eligible for unemployment? I was asked to open tomorrow by my original bosses, but technically the new owner is the owner of the business as of tomorrow. I have not signed anything, and the original owners have been very uncommunicative about details.

I'm not an Oregon attorney, but if you refuse an offer of employment at the same position for the same money as the job at which you were previously employed, I don't see how you could be eligible for unemployment.
