QUESTION

Do I have a case?

Asked on Apr 30th, 2018 on Wrongful Termination - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
I recently found out I was terminated from my job while I was out with an injury. I provided all the documents showing that I did suffer a back injury on the job. Through email I was told that everything was fine. I found out a few weeks ago I was fired because I asked for a proof of employment letter... I did not receive a phone call or email. I do not even have an official date of termination. Hoping someone can help out....

It is against public policy to fire someone in relatiation for filing a workers comp claim.  It's difficult to prove that a firing is retaliatory.  Often it must be close in time to when the employer finds out about the claim and usually comes with some kind of email or statement revealing the retaliation. Your firing could have been for any number of reasons.  Why do you think it was due to your work injury?  Its not necessarily unlawful to terminate an employee who happens to also be out on a work injury disability.
