Asked on Dec 24th, 2018 on Labor and Employment - North Carolina
More details to this question:
I started working for the company in September 2016 and he hire a new employee October 2016 Caucasian she was given one on one training on other job duties and I have continuously been denied one on one training on other job duties. I have been given less scheduled hours due to the new employees. I am the only black employee.. I was taken off the schedule October 14-October 29 without any explanation . I contacted the district supervisor about the workplace conflict he did respond to the email that he would contact me back but he never did. I contacted him again and he never responded. I have filed a complaint with the EEOC and I have decided not to mediated because the district manager never addressed the workplace conflict. The case is under investigation now.

Technically, you are not required to retain an attorney to represent you during an EEOC proceeding just as you do not need to retain an attorney to represent you in court.  However, it is always best to get expert advice on how to handle it and, at least, get a consultation with an experienced employment attorney.
