1. Injured on job-placed on workman's comp. 2. Disclosed the prescription to workman's comp-Was informed not an issue 3. When update provided to place of employment-placed on leave of absence until Dr. that provided the prescription was contacted 4, Received letter of insurance termination on Jan. 20 stating the insurance was canceled due to termination 5. I was never informed from place of employment that I was terminated and have heard back when I left a msg with management in regard to the termination,
It sounds like you may be a victim of discrimination. It's illegal to discriminate based on a person's medical condition or their need to get treatment for a medical condition. Also, under the medical marijuana act, employers are not permitted to terminate you for having a medical marijuana card. There is also a chance here that they may have retaliated against you for filing a Workers' Compensation claim.
