I accepted a job offer from a company and put in my resignation with advance notice to accommodate the new employer's stated start date. Two days before I was to start, I received a phone call from the new company asking me if I could wait a week. I complied. At the end of a week's time, I received another phone call stating that an issue had arisen between the new company and my former company regarding my employment. This was apparently due to a former supervisor of the old company now working in a supervisory position with the new company. I was told that I needed to wait a couple of more days while things got worked out. Once again, I received a phone call asking me to wait a couple of more days for a second meeting between the two companies to take place. That meeting was not exactly fruitful. I am now told that I will have to wait 2 months before I could come to work. I feel that the new company was both negligent and deceitful. Is there any recourse legally?
