QUESTION

Favoritism

Asked on Jun 07th, 2016 on Labor and Employment - California
More details to this question:
My boss the person in charge of all 30 of us in the office is engaged to an employee. That's against the rules it's in our handbook that they shall not supervise their partner. That employee is defiantly getting special treatment. They enforce all other rules in the handbook that make it so I and other employees constantly get write ups and verbals. Is there something I can do about this situation?

I would want to know a bit more....is your boss male and his fiancee female? What is your gender?...Disparate treatment on the basis of sex is unlawful under both the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and Title VII of the U.S. Code....the issue that may be presented in the case you've described is whether and to what extent there have been any damages as a result of the behavior you describe and if so, what are they and are they quantifiable in terms of dollars and cents......if you care to discuss the matter further feel free to contact us........Stephan Math Esq., smesq1@ aol.com, (805)300-2097
