The company I work for goes by a point system. I was off of work for 7 days due to a contagious illness. I requested a medical leave to get the points erased. I was told by my leave administrator I had until a certain date to submit the papers. I told the administrator I was ill when I was out of state I may not be able to get the paper work on time. The administrator granted me an extension and I submitted the paperwork 3 days before the deadline. I have the documents to prove this and a recorded conversation with HR that clearly states I was granted an extension and the paperwork was submitted 3 day's before the deadline.(HR has this documentation as well and our recorded correspondence but wont send it to me) I was fired due to all the points I accumulated. If I did not receive the points for being sick I would not have been fired.Do I have any legal recourse.
