QUESTION

fired for locking restaurant doors

Asked on Nov 12th, 2014 on Wrongful Termination - New Jersey
More details to this question:
was given a paper stating restaurant was under a 24hr boil water advisory due to well work on the previous day. water sample was never given to the health dept. later on served another paper from an health dept. official stating anything prepared with the water could not be served. once given paper became overwhelmed with the situation and locked the doors. had reported this to my boss earlier with no response from her. made a decision to protect the guest and the business. fired stating I lost the company money. this issue should have been addressed the previous day before they opened the restaurant back up after creating a contaminate situation the day before. I was the only one held responsible, because of the decision I made to close the doors and discard all potentially hazardous products and the reopen selling bottled products, due to the 24hr boil water advisory.

it appears that you made reasonable decisions. did you have the authority to make these decisions ? did you document your actions in writing ? the devil is in the details. we will review the 'facts' and documents. we will give you a written legal opinion regarding the case law and the merits of your position. you will then know if you should go forward and the cost for same. our fee would be $1500 for the research, review and legal opinion. ed dimon
