My brother was diagnose with cancer. Not terminal. He has been with his job for 15 years, big company has over 100 employees. He have taken short term and Fmla and is nearing the end. He is still going through chemo. His employer called and threaten termination if he don't return to work within a week. He told them he can't and is still going through chemo. You should speak with an attorney about his rights under the FMLA and ADA. The employer must provide your brother with reasonable accommodations   Ohio disability discrimination lawyer http://mcoffmanlegal.com/disability-discrimination-attorney-ada-ohio/
