More details to this question:
I am a sound engineer (aged 19) based in New Jersey who recently did a job at an elementary school in Pennsylvania through a company I work for. While there, I was asked by a student for a business card, as she had an upcoming recital she wanted to have professionally recorded. Later, I was informed by the teacher that this student had distributed my contact information to the rest of the students in the cast (all 4th and 5th grade) and that a parent, who works in the FBI investigating sexual predators, had seen my card in her daughter's backpack and notified the school. Have I committed any sort of crime by giving this child my business card (with only the intention of them using it to contact me regarding that one performance), or done anything to warrant being investigated? This issue is quite distressing and your prompt response is much appreciated. Thank you!

No crime has been committed if these are your only actions and comments. You need to avoid these situations because you do not know what the 5th grade student said about you. If there are allegations, the criminal authorities will investigate. You should be proactive to avoid investigation. Ed Dimon
