I left my old job about 11 weeks ago. I want to cash out my old 401k plan but my former employer will not notify wealth management of my separation. The wealth management tells me they can do nothing for me until they receive a notice of separation from the employer. What can I do about this?
Request a separation notice from your employer, and then send it yourself to the fund manager. If the employer refuses, go above that person, and report this to their manager.
