QUESTION

How do I deal with a wrongful termination case?

Asked on Feb 18th, 2016 on Wrongful Termination - California
More details to this question:
I was wrongfully terminated today for complaining against my manager about racial discrimination and illegal call recording. I was being harassed and retaliated against for more than 6 months after the complaint. The employer even created a hostile work environment for me, all my colleagues were pulled in to try to fire me for a cause. But I did not sign any document until the end and today the employer handed me a letter stating that my employment status was "withdrawn". But they orally stated that I was being terminated and I never signed any document until the end. I want to take this employer to court because of their false promises and false job security implications. I even bought a house thinking that this will be a long term job because it was orally implied on multiple occasions that this is a secure job. I recently acquired citizenship and my manager started recording my calls after that without consent. Please let me know what to do.

Unfortunately the facts you've provided are rather sparse. What specifically did you complain of to your manager, i.e., why did you believe you were being discriminated against? Was this complaint or any of your complaints in writing? Were there any preemployment written communications indicating that you were being offered a secure position. Finally, did you leave another job to take this one or did you move geographically to take this job? If you would respond more fully to these questions, I would be pleased to review the matter further. You can forward those to smesq1@aol.com
