QUESTION

How do I know if I have been wrongly terminated

Asked on May 19th, 2016 on Wrongful Termination - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
I was just released from my job. I was hired having no experience, and told them that up front. I was told I would be trained. That did not happen. I received my first review and it was negative, I wrote a plan of action for correction and submitted it to my boss. Two weeks later I was told it was not what they had hoped it would be and my probation was extended for 1 month. Now 2 weeks later I was let go. I have documentation of mistakes my boss and coworkers have made similar to mine. Do I have grounds for a lawsuit?

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job.  You should be eligible for unemployment compensation benefits but I don't think you have a claim for wrongful termination. In Pennsylvania an employee without a contract for a specific term of employment is deemed an at-will employee. Subject to certain exceptions (e.g., discrimination, violations of public policy), an at-will employee can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all -- or a stupid reason.  Do you have a contract?  You might have it reviewed by an attorney to see if you can fight the termination.
