My most recent performance review met all expectations. I was promoted with-in 8 months of hire and given numerous verbal praises followed by a large performance bonus (my largest bonus since starting with the company) and told to keep doing what I am doing, all is well. I also won numerous awards. Then without warning, was fired for "performance" with some excuse that dated back 6 months. The state of Ohio called it "Wrongful Termination" on my unemployment claim and suggested that I hire an attorney to discuss further.
Feel free to call my office if you would like a free consultation. Terminations can be wrong or unfair, but the reason you were terminated cannot violate a law. No employer comes out and tells you that you were terminated for an unlawful reason so it will likely depend upon the circumstances. Contact an Ohio employment attorney.
