if i was at work a full day is ok for my boss to take a half of days wges from me?

My name is josh freeman i was working for majestic plumbing up until last friday. When i went to get my check i looked at my and i noticed that a half of days pay was missing , so i went to the time keeper and asked why i was missing a half a days pay on my check at first he said i have to take that up with the boss ,and then i said why you are the time keeper , then he replied dewayne the owner told me to dock you amd the welder for lack of production which is not true we worked all day . So i am curious if there is something i can do because i have a 1 year old daughter to take care of and thats not right to take my hard earned money . I have to pick my last check up on this friday, and i know he is gonna short me again . So what are my rights and what can i do to get whats rightfully my money ?

An employer is not permitted to withold any amount from your paycheck (except taxes and court ordered child support) unless he has your express written consent to do so. The Texas Workforce Commission - Labor Law Department will process your claim (called a PayDay Act Claim) for free. You have 180 days to make the complaint. The process takes several weeks.
