Is colorblindness considered a disability?

More details to this question:
I am color deficient according to my eye doctor. But a test given to me with my employer said I was colorblind. I took a field test with my supervisor and passed. But my director still denied me the position. What can I do ?

If color discrimination is necessary for the job, probably nothing. If the job can be performed without reference to color, you could file a claim with the EEOC for a violation of the ADA.

I suggest you speak with an attorney that handles discrimination cases. It may be possible that this is legal discrimination. Not all discrimination is illegal.

I need the specifics, but, as there is very little that the employer can do to accommodate your disability it is doubtful that you have a sustainable claim, or that your disability will be the official reason for the director's decision.
