I gave my supervisor a dr note which stated due to my pregnancy i must take a 15 minute break every 2 hours.. she showed this note to an hourly employee. She also cut my hours from 30 a week to about half of that.
There is no private cause of action for HIPAA violations. However, you may be able to prove pregnancy discrimination and violations of the ADA based upon disclosing your medical condition (needing the accommodation). I encourage you to contact my office or another employment attorney.
