QUESTION

late pay rights

Asked on Apr 28th, 2017 on Labor and Employment - New York
More details to this question:
I am a freelance employee with a company. Today we were supposed to be paid I am told that the A/P of bank which my employer uses missed a bunch of invoices which they were sent. So now we will not be paid until Monday. this is going to cause me to incur not only late fees on bills i have but also miss work due to lack of funds for transportation. I have asked two different people in management for some sort of compensation from them or the bank they use and was turned down. I also have a written email in which one of the management stated that if I persisted in this matter I would be taken off all further work opportunities

Unless you have a contract for a certain payment day, being paid a few days late is not illegal.
