QUESTION

non-compete issue with former employer

Asked on Jan 22nd, 2019 on Labor and Employment - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I was sent a cease and desist letter from a former employer where I have not worked since June 2018. The non-compete document I signed dates back to July 2017. Since signing that document I was subsequently transferred to 2 other sales positions in 2 different territories reporting to 2 different bosses. I left the company in June 2018 due to company instability/ dysfunction as well as toxic culture. In December 2018 they found out I was working for a competitor and now are trying to intimidate me with CND's and certified letters. Can someone provide some legal advice? Regards, Bryan

Update Your Profile
These are difficult cases in that the former employer can make life difficult for you and for your new employer. I would use an attorney to see if you can negotiate a settlement with the former employer. This will not be an easy journey. Please call if you need help. Ed Dimon, Esq. 732-797-1600
