ny law regarding telecommuting

More details to this question:
Ive asked my employer to telecommute from from home for a few weeks. employer asked me to sign a contract which changes my employment status. is this legal? Im a full-time exempt employee.

Under certain circumstances, an employer may be required to make certain reasonable accomodations if you have a temporary disability, although I don't know if telecommuting would be considered one.  However, absent something like that, or an employment contract or employee handbook which provides that employees can telecommute, your employer does not have to agree to your request to change the conditions of your employment, and can demand consideration (such as your agreement to change your employment status) in return.
