QUESTION

Terminated Employment

Asked on Jan 25th, 2018 on Labor and Employment - New York
More details to this question:
My employer came into my office today without any warning and terminated me without giving me any explanation. When asked all he would say is he doesn't think I'm a good fit for the company any more, after 5 years working for him and no warnings. He proceeded to tell me what a strong good worker I am. I was the HR manager and have questioned him on a couple things they have tried to do telling him I do not think it is legal. I think he let me go and made me sign a termination letter in order to shut me up. Can he do this?
