QUESTION

Was I actually fired?

Asked on Aug 13th, 2014 on Labor and Employment - Ohio
More details to this question:
I was working part-time as a waitress for a restaurant for 3 months while going to school. I'd been with the restaurant since it opened. From October thru December I worked several days a week but after asking for a couple weeks off for Christmas to go home and see my family when I cam back in January I was given one shift and then never received another shift. A few months later I went back and they had posted a 'Now Hiring' sign. Was it legal to let me go this way?

Yes, your employer could terminate your employment for any reason or no reason as long as it is not an unlawful reason such as discrimination, retaliation, etc. I wish you the best of luck.   Ohio employment lawyer www.mcoffmanlegal.com
