QUESTION

Was I wrongfully discharged or discriminated against?

Asked on Jul 27th, 2017 on Employment Contracts - North Carolina
More details to this question:
Within the first week of my employment, I gave my new company multiple doctor's notes & requests for reasonable accommodations. All of my requests were ignored. Other employees were given the accommodations I asked for, & the Director of Operations continually asked the owners of the company to acknowledge my requests, but nothing happened. I suffer from debilitating depression, anxiety, & migraine headaches. All I asked for was to be able to work from home (which would not have been a burden to the company at all) on days when I couldn't drive due to migraines or medications that limited me. Last month I was raped & involved in a motor vehicle accident. I sent my company the ER note, notified them of the reason for my absence via email (my phone was lost), my therapist wrote them two letters for personal time off, & my internist sent an out of work note. However, after all the requests & doctor's notes, I received a letter of termination & was called a liar. Can anything be done?

It is possible you have a claim under the Americans With Disabilities Act, but I really cannot tell just from this.  If you want to pursue, speak with an experienced employment attorney.  Either way, a charge must be filed with the EEOC within 180 days of the date you were terminated.
