Watching mandatory training videos About Texas fire courses

More details to this question:
I work for an alarm company, we get paid commission per install. My employer is making it mandatory to watch 7 total hours of video plus a test about fire because state law of Texas. With no pay. Is this legal? Also they have charged me 45 dollars for missing my exam appointment. No warnings.

You should be paid for mandatory training. You could file a Texas Pay Day law claim for the hours you were not paid.  Mom not clear about the $45. Did they deduct your pay for being late?
