The company I was driving for (I'm a truck Driver) said they had received an email from the customer stating I was no longer allowed on the property due to a sexual harassment claim against me. I asked our human resources girl and our safety director when they called me if there is any way possible they were talking about someone else and got my name confused with that person and their reply was no and that they mentioned my name specifically. I then asked if there is any way they could have been having a conversation about an issue like that, and my name was mentioned regarding something else and they had mistaken me as I was the aggressor. They said no again. After my termination, I fought with the state for unemployment benefits because I felt I was wrongfully terminated. The company had not reported that I was employed full time. After 5 weeks of back and forth with unemployment, it was finally granted, and on the approval of the benefits claim it says that I was terminated so and so and we find that the termination was unjust. The company told me I was fired for said allegations, yet could not provide proof, nor would confirm who made the said allegations. The company then reported to the Unemployment office that it was for Undisclosed Reasons. I worked my tail off for these folks, and made just $200 shy of $28,000 in 5 1/2 months. I never missed a day of work and have every bill of lading from the day I started. I still have all the bills to this very day 01/27/2014. Since my termination, I have applied with roughly 45 to 50 companies (all of them are wrote down per unemployment guidelines). I have had some interviews, but have yet to be hired with such a short time with my last employer before they fired me.
You have no remedy against the employer. For more info, Google this: Georgia, employment at will. You should be unemployment comp eligible, but you likely will need an attorney to win.
