My Father was let go after 9 years with a company and in those 9 years he only had one write up and after he came back from vacation he was fired with no proof of the what they accused him of. Employers are allowed to terminate an employee for any reason even if the reason is unfair. The employer needs no proof of anything as he could be terminated for good reason, bad reason or no reason at all. He would only be able to file a legal claim if he could show the employer was motivated by unlawful discrimination (race, sex, age etc.) or unlawful retaliation (for engaging in a protected activity). If he was injured on the job, and he was fired because he reported the injury he may have a claim for unlawful retaliation.
