QUESTION

What's my next step?

Asked on Jan 31st, 2013 on Labor and Employment - Texas
More details to this question:
I am being investigated for unethical conduct at my job, working off the clock hiring people to work off the clock, having employees work off the clock and I paid them out of my pocket. I am also being questioned about theft because our deposits were coming up short and being questioned about possibly threatening people or making a hostile work environment where people leave, I asked the people if they are going to talk to two of my co-workers who would be good witnesses for me and they said they are not sure they allowed two other people to speak to HR but not me they said they would talk to HR for me and they questioned me off camera. The only thing I am guilty of is lying one time and working/paying people to work off the clock and doing everything my store manager told me to do. I lied because I was scared of losing my job. What should I do? I admitted to them that I lied.

Without a contract or union, most people can be fired at any time for any reason.
