As of Monday Dec. 17th 2018, I was wrongfully terminated from my job on the basis of retaliation that lead up to the reason I was let go. My former boss had been demanding that documents being provided to us from a current vendor that we work for and with be forged and emails changed to prevent bad reviews. This was told to myself and another employee starting late July, and after she was terminated in September , another employee that joined us in September was told to do the same thing. Being afraid of losing my job, I got with the other employee and told her to stop doing it and I was going to talk to the Regional OA about this. Around that time our Boss was being set up on a EIP/PIP for some things corporate were questioning. The other employee behind my back went and informed our boss what my intentions were and that's when I started being targeted and mistreated. It is more to this entire story and I would like to find an attorney that will determine what my rights are?
You can use the "Find A Lawyer" feature on this website to find and reseach an attorney who is experienced with employment law. Keep in mind that most "retaliation" that takes place is NOT unlawful due to the employment-at-will doctrince. Retaliation is only unlawful if it is taken on the basis of a "legally protected activity." I do not see any specifically protected activity in these facts, but there may be other facts that could change my opinion.
