More details to this question:
My girlfriend wanted to expand her therapy business. I designed built and completed her business offices. I partially financed this project by lending her some of the money. Throughout the entire time prior to during and after completion this work was all done with the complete understanding that we together would be endeavoring into this business working together and profiting to gather with the intention of being married. Few months later when all work was completed she broke up with me and simply walked out the door packing and moving out while I was at work. During the entire process before during and after we spoke about and agreed that this was to be our business together. I am seeking compensation for my work my time and repayment of the loan where do I stand in this?

You can sue her.  An oral contract is enforceable.  However, she will not agree it was the understanding unless you have it in writing.  Unless you have some witnesses, etc., it is a 50/50 type case.  The judge will have to believe one of you.
