Asked on Oct 31st, 2012 on Labor and Employment - Oregon
More details to this question:
I worked at a restaurant for 3 years. I had no write ups. I had told my boss on sun the 7th that people were going to walk out of the restaurant because we didn't have enough help. She sent me home and didn't talk to me. I returned on the following thursday for my shift was called into office and received 3 write ups. Each addressed different things. All dated on the 7th, sun, all say that if the situations did not improve then I would be terminated. My final pay was sent in on mon the 8th. I didn't have a chance to "fix" whatever the writeups had said they had already fired me before I even knew there was a problem

It is possible that your employer terminated you because he believed you were involved in this possible walkout.  Whether that is right or not, the employer violates various labor law rules when you are involved in what is referred to as "concerted activity", which is as if you were acting like a labor union regardless of whether there was a union there or not.  you should speak to an attorney or the National Labor Relations Board
