I am an Engineer ,I was hired by an employer on open yearly contract basis . I have provided them with some untrue data work history on my CV (as I was unemployed for two years period ) and filled the gap with imaginary company. All the remaing work expereince 7 years of my experience was stated correct.I was hired and perfomed work well and my superior full satisfied with my work. But after two months without paying me my monthly sal. I quit. and now they are threatening me if I file case for non payment they will file case of fraud in my CV. Can they not pay me based on that and even sue me as they were satisfied with my work and I am the one who quit due to Non salary payment and was not fired. Also they informed me unofficilay that my CV worki= history does not match with my previous year personel filling tax history. Please inform me my legal rights and would Mis-stating information on my CV should make me work for free for this employer.
The company cannot refuse to pay you for the work you actually performed. If the company can claim that it incurred some expenses in hiring and training you which it would not have done had it known about the false information in your CV, there might be a claim they can make for that, but that is not very likely unless they could prove you were not qualified for the job at all in light of this false information. For example, if you needed to be certified by the state for the job and lied about being certified, that might create problems for you.
Needless to say, falsifying a resume is never a good idea and you should correct that ASAP
