QUESTION

Wrongful termination based on pending business practice investigation

Asked on Jul 23rd, 2020 on Wrongful Termination - Ohio
More details to this question:
What do I do if I am under a business practice investigation? How should I handle the allegation especially if most are inaccurate? How can I protect myself from being terminated when most of the allegations are false? I was recently informed that I am under a business practice investigation. The investigation was initiated by an anonymous reporter and was filed one month, October 1, 2019, after I was placed into an Ad-Interim management position. Alleged evidence is focused between 2016-2018. Very soon, our organization is planning a restructure/realignment and based on past restructuring, they have terminated those who were under investigation.

Update Your Profile
You need to gather all relevant information (such as emails, texts, and other documents) that proves that you did not do anything wrong and that the allegations are false and present it in a persuasive manner to defend yourself.  Your efforts might not prevent your termination, but it makes sense to make your best effort to defend yourself.  Hiring an attorney at the attorney's hourly rate or for a flat rate is something you should consider doing.  If interested in discussing further, feel free to contact my office at 440-543-0670 ext. 8.
