My elderly neighbor had been getting death threats. All recorded and reports made. We were told if we ever saw alleged perpatratpor to call 911. Perp was in her garage, I went to my home feet away and called. They arrived and did something (unsure other than remove perp), then wanted to speak to me, an innocent caller. They had me empty my pockets. I gladly complied. They stole 2 items. I have been calling, they have been saying police theft is not a big deal. Wait your turn. The guy that was in charge at your neighbors will get around to you at some point. I said he may be the thief, I just want to file a theft report w a neutral officer. They said too bad. You're getting who your getting, and you'll take it or leave it
Un yeah - that story has more holes than swiss cheese. First, you are NOT an innocent caller - YOU injectd yourself into the situation as a material witness when you dialed 911. Second, it is odd that you fail to reference the two "items" allegedly stolen from you. This is why you were asked to empty your pockets and even complied in the first place, UNLESS there are allegations that you did nore than just call 911 like claims you threatened the other person, etc,......Finally, your attriubuted response from the department is highly suspicious. You will simply have to spend some money to hire a lawyer to review this issue and address it accordingly.
