On 6/28/13 at approx.11am my vehicle(2006 BMW X3) was stolen from a walgreens pharmacy I forget my keys on the counter and when i was ready to leave noticed it was gone. The suspect was shown on camera taking my keys and exiting the store. The store manager was able to pull the suspects name and address since he fillled a prescription. The police department have yet to bring him in for a statement nor sign a complaint against him. I also have another vehicle registered to me the police department managed to neglegently input the wrong vehicle into the report leaving my vehicle unreported for 5days. It wasnt notice til my insurance carrier contacted me stating my car wasnt listed anywhere in the stolen car database. After contacting the police department they noticed the error. I found it quite baffling that even though they reported the wrong vehicle "How come since that vehicle has been driven noone noticed it had been reported stolen?" (More details Avail.)
the police are given wide latitude to make mistakes. the police errors regarding your stolen vehicle would not be sufficient to support a claim. ed dimon, esq.
