Can two lawyers represent opposite parties

I called and had a free consultation with a partner of this firm. Gave him all the details. But I didn’t retain. Two weeks later his partner picks up the guys case that is sueing me. Is that conflict of interest? They all ready know my side of the story, but took the opposite persons case.
