How long should a law firm hold money for cancelled services ?

I hired Schill Law Firm to defend my son on three counts against him in Maricopa County ! $9000 ! My son died two days before his court appearance date so I notified the lawyers and they notified the courts ! I produced a Death Certificate to the Paralegal and she filed a motion to dismiss the case ! I have not heard from them about my bill or if I will be charged for what they’ve done !

So if $9000 was paid, and there was no work done on the file, then you need to draft a demand letter requesting that a full refund be paid to you. And if one is not paid to you, then you should file a complaint with the ethics office at the Arizona state bar Against the attorneys who are holding your money.
