QUESTION

is there a case for negligence

Asked on Oct 11th, 2013 on Legal Malpractice - Florida
More details to this question:
an attorney resigned as my counsel but did not notify court, therefore I was never notified of hearings, proceedings, motions. My partners in business were mentioned on motions but not me. Therefore, I never had a chance to defend myself and loss in case resulted in large judgement.

Depends on how all that actually happened. You may have an argument to set aside the judgment if you were not truly afforded due process, etc. Seems inconsistent that you say lawyer never notified court, as he would be lawyer on case until THE COURT lets him out, and there wouldnt likely be notices to your partners directly, if the laywer was still on the case. You need to address this immediately thought.
