We obtained the property may 1989 here in Rancho Cucamonga, summer of 1994 we went to the City asking about a piece of unknown property and who it belonged to, the City said it was an old utility easement. They us permission with permits to build a block wall, this was back in October of 1994. We are still in the property, the homeowner at the time was in agreement on us putting the wall up. The current owner 2009 has a different claim.. The City or County, how do we go about finding out about an easement and if legeally our block is in fact on his property? Currently his property is up for sale and zoned for four parcels. The block wall he claims is encroaching on his property
If you are unclear as to whether or not your wall was built on your neighbors property you should probably have the property surveyed to find out where the exact property lines are. Did the prior owner give you permission in writing to put up the wall?
