QUESTION

Am I still obligated to my contract and why?

Asked on Aug 20th, 2015 on Litigation - Washington
More details to this question:
My bill constantly went up by 20 to 30 dollars every month after Verizon bought them out, and I terminated service a few months early, but I didn't sign a contract with Verizon, so I was wondering if legally I owe them for terminating my contract early.

Since Verizon bought the contract, you are responsible to pay them.

Yes I believe, you most probably do because when Verizon bought the other carrier it would have been assigned all of the contracts, their rights and their obligations. You may have a claim that you had a right to terminate the agreement if the original price and terms under the initial contract were not honored by Verizon.

I would need to review the contract and what you did to terminate the contract.
