for the past 25 years or more, my wife and myself have been living in the house of a now 90 year old. We have been doing all the house work, cooking and cleaning and taxi type services. Recently, some of the kinds of the now 90 year old person forcably took that 90 year old out of the home and traveled with them across many state lines in this time of covid-19. even more recently, we, my wife and myself have been served with a summons for ejectment. but if I am to become the beneficiary at the time of the 90 year olds death, why would I be served with papers for ejectment? Also, years ago, this now 90 year old went to a probate lawyer after the point of death of her husband. This probate lawyer stated that the services which were provided buy my wife and myself would normally amount to about $120,000 USD per year, per person doing the services. No complaint was uttered nor was there any talk of that not being accurate. is the order of ejectment valid?
You are likely waaaaaaay out of if you think that your collective services are valued at $240,000.00 a year for cooking and cleaning. Second, you get nothing for such services short of an enforceable contract, there is no equitable lien for personal services. Third, if the will was changed to make you benficiaries to be left the house, its fair bet it will be changed back or you will have will contest on your hands, if she doesn't convey the properyty away so its not part of the estate. You need to retain a lawyer ASAP if you are being sued for ejectment or unlawful detainer to try to keep this from going off the rails.
