Can a roommate still sue?

Asked on Jun 06th, 2019 on Civil Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
I could not afford my rent so I moved out and signed a release from my contract but now my roommate is trying to sue for my part of the rent after replacing me withing the month with a new roommate. If we both signed my release from my contract are they still able to sue for my rent after they paid it to stay in the apartment?

Depends on the details of the release. You will need to retain a lawyer to review if there is anactual lawsuit filed.
