Can an assignee sue in Florida small claims court?

More details to this question:
Defendant/Counter-Plaintiff corporation assigned it's cause of action against Plaintiff/Counter-Defendant (that's me) in Florida small claims court. Assignee is not an officer or an employee of Defendant corporation. California & Missouri both say, "An assignee can't sue in small claims court."
