Asked on Dec 04th, 2012 on Civil Litigation - Nebraska
More details to this question:
i had a civil court case for property damage and broken lease contract. I had all of my evidence and was expecting the judge to request my info, which was not done so i lost my case due to lack of evidence. Ive never gone to court before and didnt know i was supposed to just throw info at the court. Can i request a new trial or appeal?

Generally speaking, you get one bite of the apple. The purpose of an appeal is to correct the court's mistake, not the defendant's. On appeal, you do not have an opportunity to raise issues that you failed to raise at trial. You have not, in your inquiry, set forth any facts entitling you to relief from the judgment entered against you.
