QUESTION

Can I be legally forced to remove a coborrower from a mortgage by sale/refi

Asked on Jan 18th, 2016 on Civil Litigation - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I have a co-borrower on my mortgage She rolled debt into mortgage, I had her sign an agreement stating she would make set monthly payments. We did a quitclaim to get her off the deed(she was added at closing for a small percentage) She has since moved out & purchased a place. Can she take legal action to force me to sell/refinance to get her name off mortgage once she has paid me back what she rolled into the mortgage?

She can take that legal action but the question is going to be whether or not she is successful.  If she has completed her obligation then her name should be removed from the mortgage.
