QUESTION

Can I dispute a contract I signed?

Asked on Apr 10th, 2014 on Litigation - Michigan
More details to this question:
I was purchasing a property outside the U.S. through a company who has an office in the U.S. I gave my down payment and bank loan application last year. It took 6 months before I found out that my loan has been denied due to not being able to have a co borrower who resides in the country where I'm buying the property. My agent did not tell me that this is one of the requirements. She offered a different bank, but due to misrepresentation, very slow process and false promises, I decided to cancel the purchase. The broker assured me verbally that I will get my money back, but instead I received a liquidation damage computation that I owe them $10,000. My questions are: Can I dispute this liquidation damages? Can I dispute the contract I signed? Will I get my money back? Thanks!

I would most certainly have to look at all the various documentation which you've already signed.
