Can I file a claim against the New Jersey Rail Road?

More details to this question:
A tree from the R.R. fell on my property, causing damage to property and cars parked on property. The tree had roots damaged by there cables.

is the tree on the railroad property ? did you give notice to the railroad company ? did you give notice to your insurance company re: damage to cars and property ? i need these answers.

If the tree was on the Railroad property and fell onto your property, yes, you can.  You must do it within 90 days of the accident and you must file something called a tort claim notice.
